Apart from the Red-back Spider none of the spiders in this essay are dangerous to humans. A few, such as the Black House Spider, can give a nasty bite but will do everything they can to avoid it. At the bottom of some pages are links to sites such as the excellent Australian Museum site where further information can be obtained about spiders, treatment for bites etc.
